  • 1.02026-06-15: Initial policy.

Who may take part, how players are expected to behave, and what happens when those expectations are broken.

To take part you must hold a registered, active player profile and meet the requirements to play — including owning Dead by Daylight and being able to play custom games. Each person plays under their own profile. Sharing accounts, or playing on someone else’s behalf, is not allowed.

By taking part, you agree to play fairly and treat others with respect. In particular:

  • No cheating or exploiting. No hacks, third-party tools, bugs, or anything that gives an unfair advantage.
  • No harassment or abuse. Treat other players and staff with respect. Hate speech, threats, and targeted harassment are not tolerated.
  • Play by the format’s rules. Follow the rules of the regulation you queued for, including any limits on what you may bring into a match.
  • Report honestly. Report results truthfully, and do not try to manipulate matchmaking or ratings (for example, by throwing matches or arranging fake results).

Each format publishes its own rules on its regulation page. Breaking those rules — for example, bringing something a format does not allow, or not following its match procedure — is a violation, separate from general conduct. If you are unsure what a format permits, check its regulation page before you play.

When the rules are broken, the response is matched to how serious and how repeated the behaviour is. Typical categories, from least to most serious, are:

  • A warning for minor or first-time issues.
  • A temporary restriction, such as a cooldown before you can queue again.
  • A suspension from the service for a period.
  • Removal from the service for serious or repeated violations.

These are the kinds of consequences you can expect; the exact response in any case is decided by staff. Cheating, harassment, and deliberate result manipulation are treated as serious and may skip straight to the stronger responses.

Staff weigh the evidence, the context, and any history before deciding, and they hold final discretion over the outcome of any individual case. Disputes and appeals are handled through Discord; see Results and Disputes for how to raise one.
