1v4 General Rule
Change history
- 1.1 — 2026-07-11: Relocated to the shared game-modes reference section and generalized scope beyond Quartet.
- 0.1 — 2026-06-15: Initial publication of the general 1v4 quartet rule.
The shared general rule for 1v4 game modes (Quartet, Duo+Duo, and future 1v4 formats). It applies to every killer across those modes. Per-mode and per-killer restriction detail (maps, win conditions, perk and add-on limits) lives in each game mode’s own balancing pages, which complement this rule.
Killer ping
Section titled “Killer ping”The killer must hold a stable connection below 60 ms for the trial to count. Persistent high ping or instability is handled as a remake.
Survivor character choice
Section titled “Survivor character choice”Each survivor must choose a different survivor character. Duplicate survivor characters are not allowed within the same trial.
- Banned character:
- Ada Wong
In-match restrictions
Section titled “In-match restrictions”Self-unhook
Section titled “Self-unhook”The AFC (Anti Face-Camp) system must be turned off in the custom match settings.
Survivors must not attempt to self-unhook. The only exception: Deliverance perk.
Hook sabotage
Section titled “Hook sabotage”Survivors must not complete a hook sabotage action. This also applies when survivors are allowed to bring a toolbox or a perk that enables sabotage.
Chests
Section titled “Chests”Survivors must not complete the open chest action.
Hook stage and kill count
Section titled “Hook stage and kill count”A dead survivor always counts as 3 hook stages, no matter how that survivor died.
If a survivor escapes through the hatch before all generators are completed, that survivor is counted as killed.
Surrender
Section titled “Surrender”Surrender result
Section titled “Surrender result”A side surrenders by disconnecting from the match. When a side surrenders, the match stats are finalized at the time of the disconnect. The surrendering side is treated as doing nothing after that point.
Examples:
- If the killer surrenders at 5 hooks, 0 kills, and 2 generators remaining, the final result is 5 hooks, 0 kills, and 0 generators remaining.
- If the survivors surrender at 5 hooks, 0 kills, and 2 generators remaining, the final result is 12 hooks, 4 kills, and 2 generators remaining.
When surrender is allowed
Section titled “When surrender is allowed”- Either side may surrender once that side can no longer achieve its win condition.
- Survivors may also surrender when all survivors are downed and unable to act. In that case, one survivor disconnect is enough to surrender for the survivor side. If only one survivor is still standing, only that survivor may surrender for the survivor side.
- You MAY NOT DC mid-game even if you have already achieved the win-con. You should play it out unless the opponent wants to move on.
