The live service runs in Discord. This website only explains how it works — the actual playing happens there. Here is what you need, what a match looks like, and how to get in.

A Discord account. That is the only prerequisite to read about and join the service. You will of course also need Dead by Daylight and the ability to play custom (private) games, since that is where matches happen.

So you know what you are getting into, the normal match loop looks like this:

  • You join the queue for the active regulation.
  • The matchmaker pairs you with eligible opponents.
  • A match thread is created. All parties confirm readiness.
  • You play the match in-game.
  • Both sides submit and agree on the result.
  • Ratings are updated automatically.

That is the full loop. The Handbook covers each step in detail, and Regulations lists every format you can play.

The live service runs in Discord. This is an external handoff — registering, queueing, readying up, and reporting results all happen there.

Join Discord

Your first action there is to register. Registering creates your player profile: you give a display name and your in-game player id, and the service links the profile to your Discord account automatically. It is a one-time step, and you cannot queue until it is done. Full detail is in Player Profile.
