What is DBD Arena

Structured Dead by Daylight competition, built to be repeated.

DBD Arena organizes rated custom matches for killers and survivor teams. Play under published rules, face opponents selected using relevant Arena ratings, and build evidence of your performance across matches.

Each match stands on its own. You can compete seriously without entering a tournament bracket or committing to a complete event.

Competition built for repeated play

Public matches can be played repeatedly, but they are not organized around fixed competitive conditions. Tournaments provide strict rules and direct competition, but each event is bounded.

Arena provides an unique competitive format: repeatable like public matches, structured like tournaments, but not bound to either model. DBD Arena uses published rules and restrictions in standalone matches that can be played again and again. Arena also uses competitive records to look for opponents near your current level, so each result adds useful evidence about your performance over time.

Queue as killer

Join alone and choose the killer you want to play. Arena looks for a survivor team using your record with that killer. Your results are tied to the killer you chose instead of being mixed with your results on other killers. Your results then show how you perform on that killer, under the same competitive format, across repeated matches.

Queue as a survivor team

Join the queue with other survivors and face a killer selected using the relevant Arena records. Your team gets serious, repeatable matches under the same published competitive format each time, with known rules. Over time, those results build a cleaner record of how that survivor team performs.

Arena matches are organized by competitive format. A format is the published ruleset for a queue: it defines who can enter, which killers or survivor teams can play, what maps and restrictions apply, how the match is scored, and which ratings the result affects.

For most new players, DBD 1v4 Quartet Ranked is the recommended starting point. It is Arena’s standard rated killer-versus-survivor-team format, but it is one example of the formats Arena can support.

How an Arena match works

The live service coordinates matches in Discord. The match itself is played as a normal custom game, under the selected format’s published rules.

1. Join the queue. Queue alone as a killer or together as a survivor team.
2. Receive the match details. Arena provides the opponent, killer information, map selection, rules, and win conditions before play begins.
3. Play the custom match. Both sides play a custom match using the agreed format conditions.
4. Report the result. players report the match result. Once accepted, it is recorded and the relevant ratings are updated.

Arena coordinates the competition; it does not replace the game itself.
